It’s NOT a date!

Hey y’all,

CityGuy here, and  I’ve been on alot of dates in my life (significantly more first dates than others, but that’s how it goes) and I’ve gained some expertise in the subject.  So I’m going to begin a series of posts called “CityGuy’s Guide to Dating.”  This is partly because the internet needs just one more person talking about their experiences like some kind of twisted, public therapy. Mostly its because I haven’t found a primary source I like, and a little because it gives me an excuse to tell stories from my past as a CityKid…

To start off, I’d like to begin defining what a date is by discussing what a date is NOT.  A date is NOT any time a pair of people of opposite genders have a meal together, even if they are laughing and joking.  A date is NOT what happens when a guy pays for a girl’s movie ticket.  A date does not have to be re-paid, a date does not require planning, and most importantly, a date is NOT limited to nighttime.
