A club opening night is a rare occasion, so it is necessary to make sure you make the right impression. This is the only night you can make a first impression on the club, its staff, and the other patrons. Because of this, you have to make sure you do the right things.
1) Be Polite. Nothing gives the wrong impression of a person to a staff (or even another person) than demanding service, or that the dress code be stretched for you. Of course its going to take five minutes to get your drink order in, there are 250 other people trying to do the same thing.
2) Dress the part. The dress code is there for a reason, but don’t blend in. if it says suit and tie, wear a nice suit. Rock out season-appropriate colors. Remember black and charcoal colors are classic.
3) Tip your bartender. This shows the staff you appreciate their work. Standards vary depending on locations, but I go with the rule of $1 per round or %20 if I ran a tab.
4) Work the crowd. Say hi to people you know, smalltalk it up. But also say hi to people ya don’t know. This shows everyone that you’re easy to get along with, easy to like. And who knows, you may end up with some new friends, or phone numbers of some new women.
5) Act your age. You got invited to the opening night for a reason, so don’t drink so much you act a fool, or you may not be invited back.
